Limited Edition 180 Gram Gatefold LP
This Elemental Music release presents a newly remastered 180 gram reissue of one of B. B. King’s most critically acclaimed albums: Indianola Mississippi Seeds. Mostly recorded at The Record Plant, Los Angeles, California, between May and June 1970, this masterpiece was released in October 1970 on ABC Records (his first LP on the mother label after several releases on its blues sub-label, Bluesway Records). The album appeared on several of Billboard’s album charts in 1970, reaching number 26 on the Pop album chart, number 7 on the Jazz album chart, and 8 on Billboard’s listing for “Black Albums.” It also generated several hit singles, “Chains and Things”, King’s own “Ask Me No Questions” and Leon Russell’s “Hummingbird”. “I know the critics always mention Live & Well or Live at the Regal”, stated B. B. King, “but I think that Indianola Mississippi Seeds was the best album that I’ve done artistically.”
