Released in 1972, The London Muddy Waters Sessions was a follow-up to 1971 's The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions, constituting two of the earliest supersession blues albums. Both brought together the cream of the crop of the UK rock scene in order to back a Blues master. In this case, the master revered is Muddy Waters, who traveled to London at the behest of Chess Records to combine his American blues style with the likes of Rory Gallagher, Georgie Fame (credited as "George Fortune"), Steve Winwood, and Mitch Mitchell (from the Jimi Hendrix Experience), among others. This team effort won a Grammy Award, which marked the second in Waters'extended career.
Elemental Music, together with Universal Music Group, present the best selection of 60’s & 70’s R&B, Soul, Funk, Disco, Jazz, Blues, Pop-Rock and Folk out of print titles from the vaults of classic labels such as Polydor, Motown, Chess, MGM, A&M, Mercury or Capitol Records, among others.
