The self-titled debut album by the legendary Motown group, The Undisputed Truth was released by Motown in 1971 with production by Norman Whitfield. It contains the group's number three pop hit and biggest hit single (also their only US Top 40 hit), "Smiling Faces Sometimes," which peaked at #3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart. The album zoomed to #43 on Billboard's Top 200 albums chart. The pop/psychedelic sounds tried by Whitfield on Bob Dylan's song ‘Like a Rolling Stone,’ give an indication of the path Undisputed Truth was soon to follow.
