The 16th studio album by Diana Ross & The Supremes, Let the Sunshine In was issued by Motown in 1969. Included is the sequel to the previous year’s #1 hit “Love Child”, “I’m Livin’ in Shame,” as well as the Smokey Robinson song “The Composer,” which hit at #27 in the charts. The album had been originally prepared to by titled “No Matter What Sign You Are,” but this was changed after that tune failed to chart. It features Diana Ross, Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong, but original Supreme Florence Ballard appears instead of Birdsong in two tracks (“Let the Music Play” and “What Becomes of a Broken Heart”) that date from 1966-67 sessions.
