Charlap is widely known for his work on the Blue Note and Venus labels, and his 2016 album with Tony Bennett, The Silver Lining, The Songs of Jerome Kern, won the award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album in the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. Jazz critic Scott Yanow granted All Through the Night four out of five stars on AllMusic, stating that, “This trio outing by pianist Bill Charlap with Peter and Kenny Washington is a superior modern mainstream set.
