Xanadu Master Edition CD
The first album recorded under his own name after a quintessential career as a sideman for bands led by George Benson, Lionel Hampton, Eddie Palmieri, Aretha Franklin or King Curtis among others. Cuber entered RCA Studios on August 20, 1976 at the age of 34 to record his debut album as a leader blowing with authority. Schlitten chose for this occasion, veteran hard boppers like pianist Barry Harris, former Cannonball Adderley Sextet bassist Sam Jones and the great Albert “Tootie” Heath on drums.
